Week 10 Studio Tasks

Concept of Re-representation

The re-envision scheme for the Vitra Design Museum is to use the structure of the buildings shape to recreate it into more of a sculpture form, focusing on Frank Gehry's underlining intent of the building, being that of deconstructive sculpture architecture.

This will be achieved by re-designing and representing Gehry's original design's function as a multi-story park. The park is going to be imbedded into a pontoon, which will float on a lake whilst maintaining its original scale. The sculpture is going to be composed of a series of weaving metallic tubes connected to certain points that represent the original location of the building's corners'. The Sculpture will be possess two levels both in which will include various gardens and park features with the main focus being on the buildings amazing architectural form along the mountainous scenery of the site.
